Moreover, Bumrah will also be the key bowler for Team India at the ODI World Cup 2023 starting in October. India met Pakistan in the Super 4s but weather has other ideas.

However, despite rains playing spoilsports, Pakistan pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi showed off his kind gesture that will melt everyone's hearts.

In a video shared by the offcial Twitter handle of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), left-arm pacer Shaheen Afridi can be seen congratulating new dad Jasprit Bumrah. The Indian speedster and his wife Sanjana Ganesan became parents to a baby boy last week. Afridi gave a 'special' gift to Bumrah on the sidelines of the Asia Cup 2023.

"May Allah bless him always and I wish he will become a new Bumrah one day," Afridi said.

Rains forced the India vs Pakistan tie to go into reserve day after just 24.1 overs of play could be managed in the Super Four stage of the Asia Cup.

India will resume on 147-2 on Monday in the 50-over contest after rain abruptly ended their innings following Pakistan's decision to bowl first in Colombo.

An extra day was a last-minute addition to the Super Four clash -- the only game to get the advantage other than the final -- after a previous group meeting between the two teams was washed out due to rain in Pallekele.
