Recently, BCCI's top officials and selectors had a meeting with India skipper Rohit Sharma, head coach Rahul Dravid to discuss on various things revolving around Indian cricket. As per reports, India's ODI World Cup campaign was one of the many wider topics being discussed at the meeting amongst BCCI top brass.

As per a report in a Hindi daily, skipper Rohit Sharma had asked the BCCI top officials and the selectors if they wanted him to be a part of the upcoming T20 World Cup in the West Indies and the USA.
BCCI secretary Jay Shah, vice-president Rajeev Shukla and treasurer Ashish Shelar wanted to know the roadmap for Indian cricket going ahead keeping in mind the T20 World Cup 2024 is just six months away. With the South African tour coming up, the ODI, Test and T20I squads were also picked in the meeting.
As reported by Dainik Jagran, it stated that Rohit reportedly ask the BCCI top brass and selectors if they wanted him to be a part of the upcoming T20 World Cup in the West Indies and USA. Rohit, who joined the meeting held in New Delhi, via zoom call as he was away with his family in London, spending quality time.
As per a source from the BCCI, Rohit reportedly asked the officials whether they saw him playing at the T20 World Cup. "If you want to select me for the T20 World Cup then tell me now how to go about it," said Rohit in the meeting according the source, who was reported in the Hindi newspaper.
The BCCI officials, coach Dravid and Ajit Agarkar-led selectors came to a unanimous decision that Rohit is the right person to lead the team at the T20 World Cup next year. The report further stated that the selectors wanted Rohit to take charge of the T20I squad in South Africa however the former requested a break from the white-ball format.
The selectors agreed to continue with Suryakumar Yadav as the skipper for the T20I series with KL Rahul leading the troops in the ODI series.
Rohit will return to lead the team for the two-match Test series starting with the Boxing Day Test on December 26.
