Kapil Dev Wants Rohit Sharma To Be More Aggressive As Batter, Cites 'Bazball' As Example
Legendary all-rounder Kapil Dev showed his admiration for 'Bazball' and said most Test playing nations should play more aggressively look for results in Test cricket.
During the recent Ashes 2023 series, England fought from 0-2 down to square the series 2-2 in a closely-contested Test series but in the case of Team India, the visitors missed out on the opportunity to beat the West Indies in the 2nd Test match dominated by rains.
"Bazball is wonderful. The series between England and Australia was one of the finest series I have seen in recent times. I think cricket should be played like that. Rohit is good. But he must be more aggressive," Kapil Dev was quoted in The Times of India.
Kapil even went on to say that most cricket sides should adopt a similar approach and try to get a result in Test matches.
"You have to think about how teams like England play now. And it's not just us. All cricket-playing countries have to think on those lines. Winning the game should be the highest priority (not play for draws) for all teams," he added.
Despite controversies hovering around Ashes 2023, the series was fiercely contested between bat and ball. England clawed their way back into the series despite going 0-2 down, thanks to their 'Bazball' approach.
