“I absolutely loved the light show, what an atmosphere. It’s all about the fans. Without you all we won’t be able to do what we love,” Warner remarked through his social media page on X.?

Maxwell, who hit the fastest ODI World Cup century against the Netherlands, had previously criticised the light show, claiming it to be a “horrible idea.”?

“Well, I had something like that light show happen at Perth Stadium during a Big Bash game,” Maxwell had said. “And I just felt like it gave me shocking headaches and it takes me a while for my eyes to readjust and I just think it’s the dumbest idea for cricketers. So, I just try and cover up as much as I possibly can and ignore it but it’s a horrible, horrible idea. Great for the fans, horrible for the players.”

Maxwell and Warner combined for 210 of Australia’s 399 runs against the Netherlands in Delhi in match 24 of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. Meanwhile, the Aussies’ bowling attack restricted the Dutchman to a low total of 90, making the margin of their triumph the biggest in tournament history.?

Australia, who remain on course to qualify for the knockout stage, play New Zealand in their sixth match of the ICC Cricket World Cup league stage on October 28 in Dharamshala.
