The historic Kullu Dussehra, whose origins date back to the 17th century, hasn't lost its grandeur and religious fervour despite a general change. Over the years, it has received international recognition as a unique and vibrant cultural event apart from being a 'divine congregation' of more than 300 deities, which are brought in specially decorated palanquins, to pay obeisance to Lord Raghunath -- the presiding deity of Kullu. It is a key attraction of the festival for seven days, till the final return of Lord Raghunath amidst chants of scriptures, divine songs and traditional dance.?

The Grandeur of historic Kullu Dussehra
The highlight of the festival this year, described as different from earlier editions, was the participation of foreign cultural troupes from 12 countries and a Kullu Carnival organised on the lines of the Goa Carnival to add tourist attraction to the festival.
