After participating in the grand Ram Mandir consecration ceremony and breaking his 11-day-long fast following the completion of the rituals, Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a speech addressing the gathering of about 8,000 people in Ayodhya today. While making the address at the Ram Mandir inauguration and consecration ceremony, PM Modi said that Ram Lalla would no longer be in a tent and would reside in a grand temple instead.

What all did PM Modi say?

"Lord Ram has come home after ages, after penance... I have appeared in front of you as a witness to divine consciousness in the Garbhagriha [sanctum sanctorum]", PM Modi said.

"A lot needs to be said but I am still speechless...", he further added.

"There must have been some lack in penance that we could not do this work for so many centuries, today that lack has been filled, Lord Ram will definitely forgive us", the prime minister continued.

"This sun of January 22, 2024 has brought a wonderful aura... This is not a date written on the calendar, but it is the origin of a new cycle of time."

Reiterating his confidence in India's social spirit, PM Modi said, "There was also a time when some people used to say 'Ram Mandir bana toh aag lag jaegi'...Such people could not understand the purity of India's social spirit. The construction of this temple of Ram Lalla is also a symbol of peace, patience, mutual harmony and coordination of the Indian society. We are seeing that this construction is not giving birth to any fire, but to energy."

PM Modi broke 11-day fast

The prime minister on Monday broke his 11-day fast after the completion of the 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. He broke his fast after Govind Dev Giri Maharaj fed him 'Charanamrit'. Back on January 12, PM Modi announced that he would start an 11-day special ritual till the consecration ceremony.

Modi took part in the 'pran pratishtha' rituals in the presence of Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat.

"The extraordinary moment of the consecration of Shri Ram Lalla's life in Ayodhya Dham is going to leave everyone emotional. It is my great pleasure to be a part of this divine programme. Hail Siya Ram!" Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted.

From the sanctum sanctorum, Modi next headed for another location to address a gathering of about 8,000, which included seers, people linked to Ram Janmabhoomi movement and celebrities from fields like entertainment, sports and industry.
