Prime Minister Narendra Modi Meets Thought Leaders In Egypt

On the first day of his two-day visit to Egypt, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met some notable personalities like Hassan Allam, Tarek Heggy, His Eminence Prof. Shawky Ibrahim Allam and some others and had quite fruitful conversations with each of them.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his trip to Egypt, met the thought leaders there including Hassan Allam, CEO of one of the largest Egyptian companies operating in the Middle East and North African region, and Tarek Heggy, a renowned author and petroleum strategist.

On the invitation of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Narendra Modi arrived in Cairo on Saturday for a two-day state visit.

The spokesperson of the ministry of External Affairs, Arindam Bagchi tweeted saying, “PM @narendramodi held a fruitful meeting with Hassan Allam, CEO of Hassan Allam Holding Company, one of the largest Egyptian companies operating in the Middle East & North African region."

“Possibilities of forging closer cooperation with Indian companies in renewable energy, green hydrogen, infrastructure and construction sectors were discussed,” he added.

Hassan Allam told the media that?the meeting with Modi was informative, educational and inspiring.

He reportedly said, “Prime Minister Modi is an unbelievable man. Wise, humble, great vision. I found the meeting with him to be informative, educational and inspiring."

“We have a lot to learn from India’s private sector. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, India’s private sector grew tremendously in the world of infrastructure, engineering manufacturing,” he added.

Bagchi in another tweet informed that?the Prime Minister’s discussion with Tarek Heggy covered issues related to global geopolitics, energy security, radicalism and gender equality.?

In a warm conversation with two young prominent Yoga instructors, Reem Jabak and Nada Adel, Prime Minister Narendra Modi?praised them for their commitment to Yoga and encouraged them to visit India.?

They informed the Prime Minister of great enthusiasm for Yoga in Egypt, Bagchi said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also met?His Eminence Prof. Shawky Ibrahim Allam, Grand Mufti of Egypt and according to a tweet by Bagchi, they spoke about, "he strong cultural & people to people relations between India and Egypt. Discussions also focused on issues related to social and religious harmony in society and countering extremism and radicalisation. The Grand Mufti appreciated PM's leadership in fostering inclusivity and pluralism."

Modi himself tweeted about receiving a warm welcome to Egypt from the Indian diaspora in Cairo, he wrote, "Deeply moved by the warm welcome from the Indian diaspora in Egypt. Their support and affection truly embody the timeless bonds of our nations. Also noteworthy was people from Egypt wearing Indian dresses. Truly, a celebration of our shared cultural linkages."
