United States Ambassador to India?Eric Garcetti has told the media that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi invited United States President Joe Biden to?the Republic Day programme in 2024.

Eric Garcetti spoke about the experience at G20 when Joe Biden visited India for the first time. Garcetti also informed that during the recent visit, PM Modi invited Biden to next year's Republic Day parade.

Asked whether the Quad summit is being planned in India around the same time, Garcetti indicated that he was not aware of it. The Quad comprises India, the US, Japan and Australia. It is India's turn to host the annual Quad summit next year.

The US ambassador was asked at an event about the reports that India is considering inviting leaders of the Quad nations to grace the Republic Day celebrations.

This is not the first time a US president is invited by PM Modi, earlier in 2018 he invited former president Donald Trump for R-Day as well. But due to other commitments, Trump had to decline it.

At Ananta Centre in New Delhi, Eric Garcetti told the reporters that this was the best G20 they had ever seen. Garcetti reportedly said,?"I believe it was the best G20 we've ever seen, the breadth and depth of showing off your country, the successes that we brought together by making sure that we demonstrated to the world what finding what brings us together is not only as strong, but I believe, stronger than what sets us apart is a triumph that the entire country of India can claim credit for."

He also added that the five months spent as the Ambassador to India were his most rewarding, exciting and fulfilling times.
