Controversy barked at him, but Pradeep D'Souza, dubbed the Birdman of Mumbai, never lost his sight. He grew up in a family that could adopt stray dogs and took care of sick puppies. Pradeep is the keeper of many fragile species, both birds and small animals. He rises early, scrapes the droppings, cleans the living arrangements for those birds and the animals, feeds them, and applies or administers medicine where it is needed. His mansion house smells like an intense forest where the kites, vultures, barn owls, egrets, herons, and bats coexist peacefully with the rabbits. His family works beside him. Their love is their only motivation.? Once he saved a rare and endangered gigantic white-rumped vulture.
Mumbai's Birdman and Our Feathered Friends
Pradeep D'Souza rescues troubled birds, and nurses the sick ones, and love is his only motivation.
He says that people are unaware, and unless they observe the avian more they would not realize how their kite-flying may hurt our feathered friends. He sighs. He often asks for the help of the authorities and instead of receiving the same, they filed a case against him. No one desires to nurture a wounded bird or animal. He says. He hopes someday authorities shall share his concern, and understand his agenda, and together they can restore the nature around his beloved city.
