A day after a wall collapse in Madhya Pradesh's Rewa killed four children, a similar incident has been reported from the state's Sagar district. As per the latest information, at least nine children were killed after a wall collapsed in a temple on Sunday morning.

As per local media, the incident took place at Hardaul Baba temple in Shahpur. Several children have also been injured due to the collapse and rushed to the hospital for treatment.

The deceased children have been identified to be in the age group of 10 to 15 years old.
Taking notice of the incident, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced ex gratia of Rs 4 lakh to the families of the children killed in the wall collapse.
"Today, I am saddened to hear the news of 9 innocent children dying due to the collapse of the wall of a dilapidated house due to heavy rains in Shahpur of Sagar district. I have directed the district administration to provide proper treatment to the injured children.
I pray to God to grant peace to the souls of the deceased children. I pray for the speedy recovery of the other children injured in the accident. I express my deepest condolences to the families who have lost their innocent children. The families of the deceased children will be given a financial assistance of Rs 4 lakh each by the government," stated CM Yadav
As heavy rains continue to lash over Madhya Pradesh, several instances of wall collapses have been reported in the state. On Saturday, four children died in a wall collapse incident in Rewa district.
The children, aged five to seven years old, were returning from school when the wall collapsed. The owners of the house, the wall of which collapsed, have been arrested.
