With few months left for the high-octane electoral drive across the nation, Congress leaders on Thursday chalked out the seat-sharing map for states where potential friction with allies may arise. As per media reports, Congress leaders from different states also came forward with their aspirations and evaluated?the possibilities of securing seats while negotiating with allies from the INDIA bloc, said sources.
Congress Prepares Seat-Sharing Blueprint For 2024 Elections, Gives State-Wise Feedback To Kharge
The Congress leaders and office bearers on Thursday?met party chief Mallikarjun Kharge and senior leader Rahul Gandhi and discussed the feedback received from state units on seat-sharing with other INDIA bloc parties.
According to the party leaders, Congress could secure 10-12 seats out of the total 40 in Bihar?if, in collaboration with Left parties, they demanded 25. The Congress leaders also expressed a wish to?establish?an alliance with JD(U) and RJD and asserted that they were ready to adjust the seat allocation based on their preferences.
The committee on Thursday?met party chief Mallikarjun Kharge and senior leader Rahul Gandhi and discussed the feedback received from state units on seat-sharing with other INDIA bloc parties. The panel said that state-wise talks with coalition partners will commence soon.
At the December 19, 2023 meeting of the opposition INDIA bloc, which was held in Delhi, the alliance partners decided that seat-sharing arrangements would be completed by December 31, but the INDIA bloc missed the deadline.
