A Revanth Reddy has been chosen as the upcoming Chief Minister of Telangana by the Telangana Congress. The announcement was made on Tuesday at the party headquarters, with AICC General Secretary K C Venugopal revealing the decision.

Revanth Reddy emerged as the frontrunner for the top post following the Congress's remarkable victory in the assembly elections, securing 64 seats in Telangana and surpassing the BRS.
The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled to take place on December 7 in Hyderabad.
Venugopal, addressing the media, stated, "After considering the report of observers and after discussion with senior leaders, the Congress president has decided to go with Revanth Reddy as the leader of the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) in Telangana."
Revanth Reddy emerged as the frontrunner for the top post following the Congress's remarkable victory in the assembly elections, securing 64 seats in Telangana and surpassing the BRS.
Venugopal further highlighted that the Congress Legislature Party in Telangana had unanimously authorized the Congress president to decide on the appointment of the CLP leader during an earlier meeting.
To ensure a fair and comprehensive decision-making process, the party appointed four observers, including Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar, Deepa Dasmunshi, Ajoy Kumar, and K J George, alongside AICC General Secretary in-charge Manikrao Thakre. Shivakumar and Thakre were present as Venugopal officially announced the party high command's decision on Telangana.
However, when questioned about the specifics, including the number of ministers to be sworn in and the possibility of deputy chief ministers, Venugopal refrained from providing details. The appointment of Revanth Reddy as Chief Minister-elect signifies a pivotal moment for the Telangana Congress following its electoral success.
