Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and John Cena, who were once adversaries in the WWE, have likely become genuine friends in real life! In a video shared on the WWE's official account on X (formerly known as Twitter), the two wrestling champions surprised fans by reuniting during WWE SmackDown at Ball Arena in Denver on a Friday night.

The Highlights of the Grand Evening

The behind-the-scenes clip begins with ESPN sports analyst Pat McAfee concluding a conversation with Johnson, 51. After their conversation, McAfee points out to Johnson that someone is standing behind him, playfully referring to Cena, 46, with Cena's famous wrestling catchphrase, "You can't see me."

The camera then reveals Cena standing quietly behind Johnson, looking straight ahead with his hands behind his back. As the crowd goes wild, Johnson, with a serious expression at first, greets his former rival. Both initially maintain a stern demeanor, but they can't help but break into smiles.

Johnson remarks, "I see you trying to smile!" and points at Cena, who nods in agreement. The Peacemaker star then extends his hand to shake Johnson's hand and says, "Welcome home." The two share a hug, and the audience erupts in cheers.

Fans reacted positively online, expressing their happiness at seeing these long-standing opponents share a friendly moment. One wrestling fan even commented, "This was cool to see, Strikes did us fans wonders low-key," likely referring to the Hollywood strikes by SAG-AFTRA and WGA that took place.

Over the years, Johnson and Cena maintained a professional rivalry that thrilled WWE fans, and their competition was explored in the A&E series WWE Rivals, with season 2 delving into their notorious rivalry. Cena publicly criticized Johnson both on and off-screen, leading to dream matches in 2012 and 2013. In 2011, Cena questioned whether Johnson cared about the wrestling business, sparking tension between them.

However, the unexpected reunion between these former rivals pleasantly surprised all the fans.
