Kate Micucci, who portrayed Lucy in famous show ‘Big Bang Theory’ has revealed that she has been diagnosed with lung cancer. The 43 years old actor and comedian took to social media to share an update about her undergoing surgery.
‘Big Bang Theory’ Actor Kate Micucci Diagnosed With Lung Cancer, Says “Never Smoked Cigarette In Life”
The ‘Big Bang Theory’ actor Kate Micucci, who played the role of Lucy, has been diagnosed with lung cancer. She revealed on TikTok about her surgery and said that she has never smoked cigarette in her life.
In a TikTok video that she shared, she said “This is not a TikTok, this is a SickTok”. “I had lung cancer surgery yesterday, they caught it really early”, Micucci said in the video recorded from the hospital. “It’s really weird because I have never smoked a cigarette in my life, so you know, it was a surprise.”
The performer, who has voiced animated characters on shows including "Steven Universe," "Milo Murphy's Law," and "Scooby-Doo," in addition to her role as Lucy on "The Big Bang Theory," has also been seen on "Scrubs" and "Will & Grace."
Micucci said that she is cannot wait to return to painting but that she would be moving slowly for the next few weeks. She often posts pictures of her original cartoons on social media.
In addition to her career as an actor, Micucci is one half of the musical comedy duo Garfunkel and Oates, which she performs with Riki Lindhome.
Micucci returned to the CBS sitcom in seasons six, seven, and ten as Lucy, the love interest of Kunal Nayyar's character Raj. Her most recent casting was as a voice actor for the upcoming animated television series, Angry Birds Mystery Island. NBC's Four Kings, Scrubs, Raising Hope, Steven Universe, How I Met Your Mother, and Malcolm in the Middle are just a few of her other credits. When in Rome, Bart Got a Room, and The Last Hurrah are among the film credits. Micucci is a member of the musical comedy group Garfunkel and Oates and is also a guitarist.
