Two consecutive earthquakes within a period of? 30 minutes jolted Afghanistan on Wednesday. According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), the first earthquake had a magnitude of 4.4 and occurred at 12:28 am 100 km east of Fayzabad.

Before this earthquake, another one of 5.2 magnitude jolted Afghanistan on December 12, 2023.?In October last year, a powerful 6.3 magnitude quake followed by strong aftershocks killed dozens of people in the western part of the country.
The second quake, with a magnitude of 4.8, struck at 12:55 am, 126 km east of Fayzabad.
As per media reports,?no injuries or property damage has been reported.
