Elections 2024: PM Modi Concludes His LS Poll Campaigns In TN's Tirunelveli; Amit Shah Says BJP Will Win All 25 Seats In Rajasthan

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will campaign for BJP lead NDA candidates in central and south Kerala on Monday. He is scheduled to attend two functions on April 15 in Kerala as part of the BJP’s electoral campaign for the Lok Sabha elections.

Ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will address election rallies in Kerala’s Kozhikode on Monday. The former Congress president is himself contesting the election from the state’s Wayanad Lok Sabha seat.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will campaign for BJP in Tripura on Monday for the Lok Sabha elections. Shah has already arrived in the state.

JMM leader Vijay Kumar Hansdak on Monday said, “the agendas that were promised by BJP in 2014 before coming to power have now vanished."

Hansdak is JMM’s candidate from Jharkhand's Rajmahal constituency for the upcoming Lok Sabha election.

Union Minister and BJP leader Dharmendra Pradhan on Monday said, "PM Modi launched the Sankalp Patra to give further impetus to the work that has been done after 10 years. The Sankalp Patra is committed to the development of the poor, women, farmers and youth...Developing India in the 21st century is the commitment of the Sankalp Patra..."

Former Rajasthan Chief Minister and Congress leader Ashok Gehlot on Monday said, "From the last two times they're (BJP) winning by 25-0, but things have changed now and in favour of Congress. I can't say about the seats that we will get but the result will be surprising. The party in power should talk about the burning issues of people like we have given 5 Nyay and 25 guarantees in the manifesto but the BJP won't talk about it or better than it, they say that the Congress' manifesto is influenced by the Muslim League. What does it mean? This shows PM Modi is rattled... It's not about the manifesto but the credibility, when PM Modi won in 2014, situations were different..."

BJD leader and former Odisha Minister Padmanabha Behera has said Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s guarantees are more impactful in the state than that of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

His remarks came after BJP released its ‘Sankalp Patra’ poll manifesto for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

He said, “Here, only Naveen’s guarantees will work and no other guarantees will work in Odisha. The BJD will win more seats than the last Assembly elections.”

Two cases have been registered against the Tamil Nadu BJP chief K Annamalai for the alleged violation of the Model Code of Conduct.

The cases against Annamalai, who is also BJP’s candidate for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections from Coimbatore constituency have been registerd under sections 143, 286, 341 and 290 of the IPC for alleged violation of the election code of conduct.

The police said the case has been registered at Sulur and Singanallur police stations respectively.

BJP leader Lata Wankhede, who is the party’s candidate from Madhya Pradesh's Sagar Lok Sabha seat on Monday said, “People only want PM Modi and his leadership. They say, 'we will vote for the one who has brought Lord Ram'.”

Ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, DMK candidate from Thanjavur parliamentary constituency S Murasoli sought votes by cycling in the Thanjavur city area.

He also served 'herbal soup' to the people during the campaign. All 39 Lok Sabha seats in Tamil Nadu will vote in a single phase on April 19.

Ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has urged voters in Uttarakhand to give all the five Lok Sabha seats in the state to BJP.

During his address at a rally in Garhwal, he said, “The choice in these elections is between nation first and family first. People in Uttar Pradesh have made up their minds about handing over all the 80 Lok Sabha seats in the state to Narendra Modi. In Uttarakhand also you should present him with a garland of five lotuses to give him a third term in office for a developed and self-reliant India.”

Ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will campaign for BJP in northeast states including the ethnic-violence hit Manipur and Tripura on Monday.

Shah has already arrived in Agartala. He is scheduled to address public rallies in both Tripura and Manipur.

Union Minister and BJP leader Giriraj Singh on Monday said Congress has shortage of candidates and the party is trying to manage with the rejected people.

In his reaction to Congress giving ticket to Kanhaiya Kumar from North East Delhi constituency, he said, “Congress has a shortage of candidates... They are struggling and trying to manage it with the rejected people. They can contest anyone from anywhere. No one can defeat Manoj Tiwari..."

The Supreme Court will hear the plea of Delhi Chief Minister and AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal on Monday.

Kejriwal has challenged his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate and his remand in money laundering probe linked to the now scrapped Delhi excise policy case.

Kejriwal is currently lodged in Delhi's Tihar jail.

Ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, RJD leader and the party’s candidate from Saran Lok Sabha seat Rohini Acharya on Monday said, “they (BJP) should raise the issues of the people. The issue of employment has disappeared from the BJP's manifesto. They are only targeting Lalu Prasad's family...People have decided to change the government..."

Ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis on Monday said, “This is not just a 'Sankalp Patra' but it is a guarantee of PM Modi. This 'Sankalp Patra' specifies what will happen after the return of the Modi government. This 'Sankalp Patra' has a long-term vision for women, poor and all sections of society."

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Monday reached Tihar jail to meet AAP convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday targeted Pinarayi Vijayan led government in Kerala saying it is not allowing ‘Jal Jeevan Jal Mission’ to run in the state.

During his address at a rally in Kerala’s Pallakad, he said, “Under the Jal Jeevan Mission in the last tenure of the NDA govt in Kerala, over 36 lakh tap water connections have been provided. The pace at which Jal Jeevan Jal Mission has been run in the entire country, the Kerala govt is not allowing that much to happen, they are looking for corruption. That is why even today, there is a crisis of drinking water in homes in Kerala...I guarantee you that I want to provide water from every household in Kerala..."

During a public rally in Palakkad, he said, “A big leader of Congress has found it difficult to save the respect of his family seat in Uttar Pradesh and has made his new base in Kerala. To win the elections, Congress has entered into a backdoor agreement with the political wing of an organization which has been banned in the country for its anti-national tendencies...The crown prince of Congress will ask for votes from the people of Kerala but will not say even a single word on your issues..."

Congress leader Jairam Ramesh on Monday said Assam government is trying to create hurdles in their campaign for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

The Supreme Court on Monday said it will hear Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's plea challenging his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate in connection to a money laundering case linked to now scrapped Delhi Excise Policy case on April 29.

Ahead of the upcoming elections, the Election Commission on Monday said Rs 100 crore have been seized each day since 1st March.

The Commission said Rs 4,650 crores were seized even before the polling is yet to begin.

It said the seizure is higher than total seizures in 2019 polls.

During a rally in Puducherry, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said, "This is the difference, whatever we promise, we will do, but Modi will not do. Only Congress can do. The issue of statehood of Puducherry was not mentioned in the BJP manifesto. It is a blatant disregard. We will fulfil what we have promised."

PM Modi accused the Left government in Kerala of hindering Centre's development programmes in state during his rally in Kerala's Thiruvananthapuram.

He said, "What happened in the last 10 years was only a trailer; there is more to be done for Kerala and India."

He said it will be a year of progress in Kerala and referred to the various promises and development programmes mentioned in the BJP's manifesto -- called 'Modi ki Guarantee' -- that was released on Sunday.

He criticised the Left Front in the state over the law and order situation in Kerala as well.

"Violence and anarchy are common in Kerala. Political murders are carried out here. College campuses have become dens of anti-social movements. Our children are not safe," he alleged.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday said that the BJP-led central government’s priority is to establish peace in the ethnic strife affected Manipur.

The senior BJP leader claimed that attempts of infiltration were being made in the northeastern state to change its demography.

“Establishment of peace in Manipur by taking all communities on board and without breaking the state is the priority of the Narendra Modi government," Shah said.

At a recent interview with ANI, PM Modi explained his earlier promise about India's future, he said, "I have big plans...kissi ko darne ki zaroorat nahin hai. My decisions are not made to scare anyone or to diminish anyone. They are made for the overall development of the country."

On 'One Nation, One Election', PM told ANI, "...One nation one election is our commitment...Many people have come on board in the country...Many people have given their suggestions to the committee. Very positive and innovative suggestions have come. The country will benefit a lot if we are able to implement this report."

He added, "You have raised the right point. One nation one election is our commitment. We have spoken in the Parliament as well. We have also made a committee. The committee's report has also come. So in terms of one nation one election, many people have come on board in the country...Many people have given their suggestions to the committee. Very positive & innovative suggestions have come. The country will benefit a lot if we are able to implement this report."

Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his rally in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu that marked the conclusion of his campaign for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls on Monday made a Tamil-centric pitch, reiterating setting up Thiruvalluvar centres and labeled Congress and the DMK as "sinners" over the matter of giving Katchatheevu island to Sri Lanka.

He also mentioned that the party manifesto has given importance to Tamil language. "Will work to bring Tamil Nadu's heritage sights on the global tourist map. BJP is resolved to set up, all over the world, Thiruvalluvar Cultural centers," he said.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday held a road show in the Jaipur Lok Sabha constituency and exuded confidence that the BJP would win all 25 parliamentary seats in Rajasthan for the third time in a row.

"We are going to win all 25 seats in Rajasthan for the third time. Surely we will touch the 400-seat mark. Due to the work done by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the last 10 years, there is great enthusiasm among the people to him bring back to power," Shah told reporters.

When asked about the possibility of a close contest on two to three seats, the senior BJP leader said, "It seems like that every time but when the box opens Modi has won."
