Can you tell us a little bit about your background in the industry? What inspired you to begin your journey with Sociapa?
Before I started Sociapa, I had already accumulated more than ten years of knowledge and experience through my journey in marketing. With that ten years came an innate understanding of brands and how to formulate successful campaigns around them. It has helped me focus better on those factors which, even now, we utilise to drive our strategic thinking and creative marketing.
In the decade that I was exploring my path in the marketing industry, I have worked at prolific companies like Luxor, Apis, Bikano, Britannia and many more, which has helped shape my experience in the sector. It is thanks to that experience, that my passion for marketing has become sharpened even further.
Honestly, Sociapa was brought together by two factors that I cherish. Firstly, it was my admiration for marketing for over a decade, I loved how different brands would carry out bold, emotional and thoughtful ad campaigns and the second factor was my passion to do more in the sector than. Hand in hand with those factors and my previous experience, it inspired me to get started with Sociapa.
When hiring what qualities do you look for in potential employees?
Sociapa is built with a team of passionate members at its core. I believe it is important for a team, whether at work or at play, to have passion towards their objectives. On that very note, I make sure to evaluate any new hires with three important qualities - passion for work & growth, respecting their work, and having work ethics. We make sure they have a positive attitude towards work because it is this positivity and passion that will drive us all forward.
How do you see the role of social media evolving in the marketing industry and how do you leverage it for your clients?
Social media has become an increasingly important channel for marketing in recent years, and we see its role continuing to evolve in the future. As more and more consumers use social media to discover, research, and purchase products, we leverage it for our clients by creating engaging and targeted content that resonates with their audiences, and by using data analytics and other tools to measure the effectiveness of our campaigns.
What role do you see emerging technologies like virtual reality and augmented reality playing in the future of marketing?
Emerging technologies like virtual reality and augmented reality have the potential to revolutionise the way that consumers interact with brands and products and we see them playing an increasingly important role in the future of marketing. With such technologies bridging the gap between the digital and the physical world, I believe that virtual and augmented reality can provide immersive and interactive experiences.
In fact, it is my belief that these technologies can help to build stronger emotional connections between consumers and brands, which can lead to increased engagement and loyalty. Even now, both Virtual Reality & Augmented Reality is taking up the marketing space to promote experiences to consumers.
For example, online car retailer Vroom offers a virtual dealership visiting experience offering users an inner look, with real engine sounds and taking 360-degree view test drives. Similarly, in the Augmented Reality space, the Amazon Room Decorator AR app allows users to remodel their entire space virtually with items from Amazon.
Since the future always has more room for advancement, I think we will see brands take AR & VR technology up a notch with more ways to engage people, all the while offering beneficial services.
Provided there are numerous AI platforms used for marketing, what are your thoughts on using them?
Whether it is a data-driven approach or creativity, implementing Artificial Intelligence can surely make work quite convenient. In fact, our teams, from content to analytics utilise the best of modern AI tools for work. Nowadays, the digital world is moving beyond ChatGPT with Jasper and GrowthBar. Such tools can make the working process much more efficient. However, there is a difference between making it an important part of the process and relying on it wholly. We make sure to never cross that line.
How we see AI, is as great tools. However, in the end, human minds are the only factors that will drive our work ahead. And, this is the reason we put our trust and importance in the human touch. After all, as advanced AI can be, these tools still don’t have the intuition needed to make strategies work.
What are your expansion plans?
When I started with Sociapa, we began with core digital marketing as our primary service. Over the last few years, we have incorporated several other marketing services to make our firm a full-fledged MarCom agency.
Our vision for the future of our agency is to continue to innovate and adapt to the ever-changing marketing landscape while maintaining a strong focus on delivering high-quality, measurable results for our clients. When it comes to expansion, I would like to continue this trend for Sociapa and ensure that we are marketable in other fields as well.
We are already taking steps ahead in various fields and would like to establish a better foundation in those fields like influencer marketing, product shoots, ad shoots and packaging and design.
With that said, we are also exploring new ways to expand our market reach. We plan to branch out across India with new offices in other major cities. We believe this will allow us to serve our clients better and allow us to tap into new markets. Our goal is to stay ahead of the curve and be the go-to agency for all marketing solutions.
