Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma's movie 'Vyooham' has landed into trouble as on Monday, the Telangana High Court stopped its release, as per reports. As per Telangana Today, the single-judge Bench of the High Court pronounced orders, extending the suspension of the political thriller for another three weeks.

Justice Surepalli Nanda directed the Censor Board's Revising Committee to once again review 'Vyooham' and delete objectionable scenes. The panel was told to decide on issuing a new censor certificate to the film within three weeks.

On January 11, the court had reserved orders on the petition by producer Dasari Kiran Kumar, who pleaded to vacate the interim order suspending the release of RGV's film in theatres.

Dasari's counsel A Venkatesh submitted to the court that if it believes that 'Vyooham' may influence the upcoming elections in Andhra Pradesh, it may permit the release in Telangana. But the counsel of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) General Secretary Nara Lokesh, objected.

'Vyooham' is said to be based on the real-life Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, and several events that shaped his life after the death of his father, Y. S. Rajasekhar Reddy. It is alleged that the film is defamatory towards former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP President, N Chandrababu Naidu.

In December 2023, Nara Lokesh, the son of N Chandrababu Naidu, approached the Telangana High Court over Ram Gopal Varma's film, 'Vyooham' and alleged that the film attempted to tarnish the image of his father.

In the petition, Mr Lokesh requested the high court to cancel the censor certificate of the film and alleged the film "misrepresented" Mr Naidu to make him "unpopular".

On January 2, 'Vyooham's producer had approached a Division Bench of the High Court challenging the interim order.

His counsel submitted that the filmmaker has incurred a loss of crores of rupees due to the suspension of the release date. The court had refused to interfere with the single-judge order.

‘Vyooham’ stars Ajmal Amir, Manasa Radhakrishnan, Dhanunjay Prabhune, Surabhi Prabhavati, Rekha Surekha, Vasu Inturi, Kota Jayaram, and Elina Tuteja among others.
