Mansoor Ali Khan To File Defamation Case Against Trisha Krishnan, Calls His Apology 'Biggest Joke'
Days after an apology to actress Trisha Krishnan for his controversial remarks, Mansoor Ali Khan has called his apology the 'biggest joke'.
Speaking with?CNN News18, Mansoor said that he will also file a defamation case against Trisha later today.?
Mansoor said that he and his lawyer have?prepared all the documents and his lawyer will share all other information today at 4 pm with the press. When asked about his apology, the actor said, “It is the biggest joke”.
For the unaware, the ?'Captain Prabhakaran'·actor grabbed the headlines?after a video of him?went viral. He was saying in Tamil, “When I heard that I was acting with Trisha, I thought there would be a bedroom scene in the film. I thought I would carry her to the bedroom just like I did with other actresses in my earlier movies. I have done so many rape scenes and it’s not new to me. But these guys didn’t even show Trisha to me on the sets during the shoot in Kashmir.”
He was booked under Section 354 A (sexual harassment) and Section 509 (word, gesture, or act intended to outrage modesty of woman) for the condescending remark.?
The 'Ponniyin Selvan' actress issued a statement, responding to Mansoor's remark. Trisha's statement read:?“A recent video has come to my notice where Mr. Mansoor Ali Khan has spoken about me in a vile and disgusting manner. I strongly condemn this and find it sexist, disrespectful, misogynistic, repulsive and in bad taste.” She added: “He can keep wishing but I am grateful never to have shared screen space with someone as pathetic as him and I will make sure it never happens for the rest of my film career as well. People like him bring a bad name to mankind.”
Mansoor in his apology wrote, “My co-actress Trisha, Please forgive me!” Later, the actress without mentioning his name wrote,?“To err is human, to forgive is divine''.
