Casting director Mukesh Chhabra made his directorial debut with ‘Dil Bechara’, starring Sushant Singh Rajput and Sanjana Sanghi.
Recently, when Mukesh Chhabra tweeted about the sequel of the film, Sushant’s fans got a little emotional.
The film, which was based on John Green's novel ‘The Fault in Our Stars’, showcased Sushant Singh Rajput and Sanjana Sanghi playing two terminal cancer patients who became the best of friends as they dealt with the same tragedy. Years after the release of the film, Mukesh Chhabra shared a post on X (formerly Twitter) and penned, “Dil Bechara 2.”
On seeing the tweet, several fans of the late actor got a little emotional as it marked the last film of Sushant Singh Rajput. A user commented, “looking forward,” while another wrote, “#SushantSinghRajput k bina??? Rulaoge kya” with multiple teary-eyed emojis. Another one wrote that he is excited to see the sequel. Music composer and singer Amaal Mallik also showered love on the post.
Apart from Sushant and Sanjana, the film also had Saif Ali Khan make a cameo appearance and featured Sahil Vaid, Saswata Chatterjee, Swastika Mukherjee, Sunit Tandon, Michael Muthu, Rajie Vijay Sarathy, and Subbalakshmi. Directed by Mukesh Chhabra and produced by Fox Star Studios, the script of the romantic film was penned by Shashank Khaitan and Suprotim Sengupta.
Apart from being a casting director and filmmaker, Mukesh Chhabra is an actor who was seen in Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Jawan’.
As for Sushant Singh Rajput, after a successful stint on TV, he starred in several Hindi films such as ‘M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story’ (2016), ‘Kedarnath’ (2018) and ‘Chhichhore’ (2019). He died by suicide on June 14, 2020.
