'Parama: A Journey with Aparna Sen' directed by filmmaker Suman Ghosh?will have its world premiere at the International Film Festival Rotterdam which is going to be held in the Netherlands in January 2024. The good news was announced by the filmmaker on?Tuesday on social media.?

'Parama: A Journey with Aparna Sen' and Nivin Pauly's 'Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai' will be screened at the 53rd International Film Festival Rotterdam.
Suman says it's a special for him. He wrote on Instagram, “First of all, the joy to make a film on someone whom I deeply love and respect. Both as a person and a filmmaker. Such a person is rare in today's world. Hence I wanted to explore her and delve into her world''.?
'Parama: A Journey with Aparna Sen' is the first film of Ghosh to be sent?to the prestigious Dutch film festival. He shared, “In my 15 years of cinematic journey, I have never been able to crack Rotterdam. I have been to many other top film festivals - but always thought Rotterdam is a tough nut to crack. The main satisfaction of entering such a top film festival is that I might have been able to make something which might be universal. That is how I see my subject''.?
He also mentioned that creating 'Parama: A Journey' was not easy for him. The filmmaker wrote, “I had to shun my interactions with Rina di…I wanted to maintain the objectivity. I so love the long addas with Rina di and Kalyan da at their place. Anyways, my self-imposed embargo is over and now I can be back to her''.?
He has also directed 'Kabuliwala' which stars Mithun Chakraborty. The movie is releasing on December 22.
Also, Nivin Pauly?starrer Malayalam film 'Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai' has been selected to be screened at the Rotterdam International Film Festival. Directed by Ram, it also stars Anjali, and Soori in the lead roles.
