Talking about this power list to Prateek Sur, singer Harshdeep Kaur speaks up about the status of women in today’s film, music, digital and television industries. She also opens up on terms like equity and equality in today’s times. Are these just buzzwords? Or do they have some meaning as well?

Scroll on to read what Harshdeep Kaur has to say about the same. Excerpts:

What does it mean to be a part of a powerful cohort of brilliant creatives such as the 'Women in Creativity Power List by Rolling Stone India'?

It's a prestigious and important recognition. I'm so proud to be on the Women in Creativity Power List by Rolling Stone India. It's incredible to be in the company of such powerful creatives and entrepreneurs, and it's great to be a part of an ecosystem that's not only brilliant but also ushering in a new era.

Is there actually equity or equality in your field or are these still buzzwords? Can you tell us about some of the changes you've spearheaded or witnessed?

These are no longer buzzwords as people in the industry are walking the talk. I'm grateful to have worked with the best in the industry because of a constant commitment to excellence and evolution. I'm no longer the only woman in the room.

How would you like to see environments and surroundings transform to be inclusive and empowering for all?

I would like to see platforms and organizations to continue spotlighting and nurturing talent inclusively so that there's always, without exception, a seat at the table for all.
