Prime Video, on May 27, finally announced the worldwide premiere date of the much-anticipated Hindi original series, ‘Call Me Bae’. The series is all set to drop on the OTT platform on September 6. It is a Dharmatic Entertainment production with Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta and Somen Mishra as Executive Producers. It is created by Ishita Moitra and directed by Collin D’Cunha.

Interestingly, the 8-part series features Ananya Panday in the lead role as she makes her streaming debut as Bella ‘Bae’ Chowdhary. Besides Ananya, the show features an ensemble cast, including Vir Das, Gurfateh Pirzada, Varun Sood, Vihaan Samat, Muskkaan Jaferi, Niharika Lyra Dutt, Lisa Mishra, and Mini Mathur.
Written by Ishita Moitra, Samina Motlekar, and Rohit Nair, ‘Call Me Bae’ is said to be a story of Bae, who gets downsized from heiress to hustler. Soon after, she discovers that her most valuable assets aren’t her diamonds, but her street smarts and style. While she remains broke, she puts forward a strong front and refuses to be broken as she navigates the newsrooms of Mumbai, with an aim to find her beaus, behens, and her better self.
Karan Johar shared a new poster of Ananya from the show and wrote, “This bae is here to stay and slay! #CallMeBaeOnPrime, Sept 6 only on @primevideoin.”
Meanwhile, on the work front, Ananya was last seen in ‘Kho Gaye Hum Kahan’, which featured her alongside Siddhant Chaturvedi and Adarsh Gourav. Apart from Call Me Bae, she also has ‘Shankara’, and Vikramaditya Motwane’s ‘Control’, in the pipeline.
