Billie Eilish has taken to social media and slammed the popular news outlet Variety. The singer was recently featured on the cover of the magazine and post that cover interview all people can talk of is her sexuality and her ‘coming out’.
Billie Eilish Slams Variety For ‘Outing’ Her
Billie Eilish isn’t too happy with people talking incessantly about her sexuality ever since a cover interview of hers was published in Variety. She has sarcastically slammed the publication for bringing out her sexuality in the open, which is getting more coverage than she anticipated.
However, with so much talking going on about her sexuality, Billie Eilish isn’t happy. It seems that she feels the interview has taken the focus away from her songs and singing career and put her in the limelight for reasons that she probably didn’t want to discuss this much. She hasn’t minced her words while slamming the magazine.
Taking to Instagram, Billie Eilish wrote, “Thanks Variety for my award and also outing me on a red carpet at 11am instead of talking to me about anything else that matters. I like boys and girls leave me alone about it please literally who cares (sic).”
For the unversed, in the cover interview of Variety, Billie Eilish said, “I've never really felt like I could relate to girls very well. I love them so much. I love them as people. I'm attracted to them as people. I'm attracted to them for real.”
Following the interview on the red carpet of an event when asked about her sexuality, she reportedly said, “I didn't realise people didn't know. Why can't we just exist? I've been doing this for a long time and I just didn't talk about it.”
Billie Eilish also made it very clear that she didn’t have faith in the concept of ‘coming out’. After all, why should anyone have to reveal their sexuality?
