Actor Aamir Ali was recently seen in Disney+Hotstar's 'The Trial' where he played a cop. Aamir has been getting overwhelming responses for his performance. In a recent conversation with Outlook, he said that he is?loving the OTT space and also now the kind of response that he has got he is loving it even more. ''You need a little push, a little feedback, a little good response to what you are doing is good. After this kind of response, I am feeling even better now," he added.?

On playing a police officer which is completely different from Bajrang Panday of 'FIR', Aamir shared, "In my mind, it was a risk that I took and the director also took. OTT has become very character driven now and I?played a cop character 18 years ago and people still remember it. People still call me Bajrang Panday. Then to do a cop role that too is completely contrast and again a very serious, so more than me hats off to the director to think of me and cast me leaving that Bajrang Panday tag and just seeing me as an actor and portraying me as a performer.''

Ali also revealed that initially, it was very difficult for him to get into the OTT space. He said, "When? I took a break from TV, I met a lot of makers initially and they used to meet me very nicely. I thought that my work will be done as the kind of response I used to get from them-they used to tell me their daughters, mothers and everybody's fan. But eventually, they couldn't see me playing a particular character as they thought that I fit in a character of a hero. They didn't cast me. Then you require?some gutsy makers to leave that TV tag of yours behind and cast you in the roles which they feel they want to surprise people and themselves. I have got a couple of makers who have trusted me and this year when a couple of projects will come, then the outlook will change. So, you will see much more now."

In 'The Trial', there are a few intimate scenes between Aamir Ali and Kubbra Sait. The former never did something like this on screen and he admitted to being 'apprehensive' initially. "I have never done anything like this. I was apprehensive but then you have to trust the maker. The maker and the director say to trust them as they will shoot it aesthetically and you know when you are doing a show like this, you know it's not going to look sleazy and?it's not even close to sleaziness. It is not a typical sex-based show. So, when I saw all those things I was confident and we did it so casually that we didn't even know. I was a bit nervous but Kubbra was there to help me. I don't know if she was nervous or not but she didn't show it," he said.?

'The Trial' stars Kajol, Jisshu Sengupta, Sheeba Chadha and?Alyy Khan among others.
