‘Dunki’ Box Office Collection Day 9: Shah Rukh Khan’s Film Expected To Perform Better On Weekend

Shah Rukh Khan's latest film ‘Dunki’, which is helmed by Rajkumar Hirani, has now entered its second week. The film, which released on December 21, has been faring decently at the box office, and it is expected to improve in the coming days.

Now as per a report by Sacnilk, the film earned Rs 7.25 crore on its second Friday, as per early estimates. The total earning of the film now stands at roughly Rs 167.47 crore. Going by the portal, the film saw an overall occupancy of 20.74 percent on day 9 since its release, with cities like Bengaluru and Chennai witnessing the highest number of occupancies.

Film trade analyst Sumit Kadel also tweeted, “Dunki Second Friday will be more than Yesterday (Thursday). Film is headed towards double digits biz (business) on its day 9 as per early estimates. Trend indicates the film could collect Rs 45-50 crore on its four-day second Weekend.”

Meanwhile, ‘Dunki’ has crossed over Rs 320 crore gross at the worldwide box office. On Friday, the official X account of Red Chillies Entertainment shared a poster with new numbers. It was captioned as, "Sweeping the globe with joy! Rs 323.77 crore worldwide GBOC."

Apart from SRK, ‘Dunki’ also stars Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Boman Irani, Vikram Kochhar and Anil Grover in the film. The film revolves around the themes of friendships, borders, nostalgia for home and love. The story is about four friends Manu, Sukhi, Buggu, and Balli, who dream of settling down in London, however, they need to take a life-changing journey to reach their destination. ‘Dunki’ is co-written by Rajkumar Hirani, Abhijaat Joshi and Kanika Dhillon. It is presented by JIO Studios, Red Chillies Entertainment and Rajkumar Hirani Films.

The film clashed with ‘Salaar: Part 1-Ceasefire’ at the box office. Prabhas' film released a day after ‘Dunki’ on December 22.
