Pakistan's cricket team have reached Australia to play a three-match Test series starting from December 14 in Western Australia. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have named left-hand batter Shan Masood?as the new captain of the longest-format after Babar Azam resigned from the captaincy duties last month.?(Cricket News)

PCB have announced an 18-member squad for the bilateral series against Australia. Stylish batter Saim Ayub, Pacer Aamir Jamal and Khurram Shahzad got their first call-up for the national Test side. This will be the first stint of Shan Masood as Captain of Pakistan's cricket team.?

Australia have not announced their squad for the home series yet. But, Pat Cummins is expected to return to his captaincy duties after celebrating ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 win. Pakistan are currently at the top in the ICC World Test Championship (2023-2025) ranking and Australia will not take them lightly. Australia are the fourth in the ranking followed by India and Bangladesh.?

Pakistan players were assembled in Rawalpindi for a six-day training camp ahead of the tour. Pakistan's veteran Saeed Ajmal and Umar Gul have also joined the squad for their respective duties of spin and fast-bowling coaching.?

Before the first Test kicks off, Pakistan play a four-day warm-up match against the Prime Minister's XI, starting Wednesday, December 6.?
