David Warner?and Rovman Powell shone with the bat as?Delhi Capitals?defeated?Sunrisers Hyderabad by 21 runs on Thursday night at Mumbai's Brabourne Stadium.?This was Warner's first match against his old franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad since he parted ways with the side with the conclusion of IPL 2021. Warner, who was not retained by SRH, was picked by DC at IPL auction 2022. He had already proved his mettle for his new team in the preceding games but preserved his best for his old franchise SRH. On Thursday, the southpaw scored a blazing 92 not out off 58 balls and stitched an unbeaten 122-run partnership for the fourth wicket with Rovman Powell (67 not out off 35) to help DC post a mammoth total of 207/3. In return, SRH could never get ahead in the chase, courtesy a poor start. Aiden Markram (42 off 25) and Nicholas Pooran (62 off 34) did show a glimmer of hope but the cushion of extra 15-20 runs for Delhi proved to be the difference between the sides.?(Scorecard | IPL Points Table | IPL Schedule)
